Morale sits at the heart of it all when it comes to a team’s safe work. While not of course the only marker of success, high morale a guaranteed predictor of high safety performance.

* Are their hearts really into it?
* Are they in high spirits?
* Do they convincingly care about each other and feel like they’ve got each other’s backs?
* Are they emotionally invested in what it is they are doing and whom they are doing it for?
* Is there a lot of laughter?
* Do they open up with you and each other?

* Do you all feel close enough to be vulnerable, admit mistakes, learn and grow together?

The stats are staggering. Elevating morale pays huge dividends, in Health, Safety and Production. Full Stop.

Now that sounds like a fun mission as a Safety Leader yes?

Remember, your team models off you more than anyone else. Lead The Way.

P.S. What other tell-tale symptoms could we add to this list of questions for team leaders? (I'm sure there are many, many more)
